Fabiola Fallas

When reality and imagination are combined, altering the context of the everyday to imbue it with new meanings, fruitful results can be found. We see this in the work of Costa Rican artist Fabiola Fallas, who, having received multidisciplinary training in Visual Arts, Graphic Design, Photography, and Music, has been able to understand artistic creation by establishing relationships between image, rhythm, composition, repetition, and narrative. Through the predominant use of acrylic paint, her visual language is articulated around the accumulation of patterns, dots, and repetitive microstructures. This constructive method activates a dialectical tension between formal precision and the imaginative overflow of the represented situations. Her interest lies not in resolving certainties, but in opening up aesthetic questions. Each canvas functions as a narrative fragment, a suspended scene that challenges the viewer to decipher and fill in the silences of the story, a frozen moment that encourages the public to imagine the outcome. Her work operates as a threshold between tangible reality and the creative dimension, articulating an aesthetic discourse that adheres to poetic magical realism.

By using animals, objects, and ordinary scenes, the artist constructs open narratives that defy linear interpretation, transforming the landscape from a mere physical environment into a canvas where memory, emotion, and thought converge. The components of her work communicate through her own symbolism, rendering logical and meaningful relationships that, at first glance, seem fantastical or absurd.

Fabiola's professional career stands out for her educational work in the field of visual arts and painting. In addition to this teaching experience, she actively participates in group exhibitions and artistic projects with national and international reach.
